I DON'T WANNA GO TO SCHOOL

This school year is going to be different from the other school years. My sister and I are starting homeschool. I am going into 10th grade and my sister is going into 6th grade. When my parents first told me about the idea of homeschooling, I didn't want to do it at all. One of my reasons was that I would miss my friends but they brought a good point to the table. If my friends were actually my friends, they would want to see me and try to hang out. As the idea of homeschool has become more of a reality, I'm actually really excited to start. There is so much more flexibility and opportunities. Since I am going to be turning 16 in less than a year, I will have to get a job. Most kids will have to get a job after school and work til late. With homeschool, I can work during the day and still get my school work done later. Being homeschooled also leaves room for internships. I really enjoy photography and writing so being able to intern for one of those things would be an amazing opportunity. Plus my sister and I go to a public school and the program we would use for homeschooling would be Christian. There would be a course about the bible which is an awesome resource.

Another reason why I am excited about homeschooling is because of my eczema. During last school year, I was super self conscious about the way my skin looked and felt. I wouldn't wear shorts because I thought people would judge me for my eczema. Even though my skin is looking better, it is sometimes still hard to wear shorts or a short sleeve shirt because it is still noticeable. I am also taking 2 baths a day and need to make sure my skin is moisturized and that wouldn't work well with having to go to school. Being able to be home and tend to my needs makes it a lot easier and less painful.

In the end, homeschooling is just the winning option. It means more family time, time to learn about the bible, flexiblity, and self love.

Love the options and flexibility we’ll have with homeschooling! We’re super excited and a bit nervous.
