Now that I've given a bit of a back story, it's time for the juicy stuff. About a year ago, eczema slowly started to cover my whole body. I thought it was just because I was working out and getting sweaty everyday with a summer school gym class but when it stayed and continued to get worse when summer was over, I was a little concerned. Before I knew it, it was 2020 and the eczema had no sign of leaving. It slowly got worse and I was relieved when spring break came and school was out for a week. The week before spring break turned out to be the end of the school year actually at school. I was honestly thrilled that I didn't have to go back to school because my eczema was getting really bad. During coronacation, my eczema was at it's peak and was the worst it had ever been. That's when we decided something had to be done before it got more out of control. We tried variety of lotions, diets, and doctors. I have 3 doctors that I am seeing for my eczema and 2 of the three want to do a shot injection called Dupixent. They say that doing Dupixent will take almost or all of my eczema away but there is a major side effect. POSSIBLE BLINDNESS. It is like you have clear skin but you can't see it! My eczema is bad but not enough to be blind. After hearing from the doctors that they just want to do Dupixent, my family and I decided to take a different route.
A nutritionist is someone who you go to for a specific diet to your needs. A 100% clean diet is not only great for clear skin but also for your immune system. A clean diet not only means getting rid of a lot of foods but also going organic. Everything has to be organic. Even if you buy a fruit or vegetable, it has to say organic on it. We have recently started going to the farmers market at the Springfield mall on Saturday mornings to get our organic food. We also shop at Mama Jeans, Hyvee, and Aldi to get the most good food possible. Some of my favorite organic food we buy is gluten free fried onions. They are great for salads, which we have a lot. Another good food is bean chips. They are a great substitute for regular chips and are a great complement to guac, which I have almost once a day. There aren't a ton of on the go foods but one that I have found is applesauce. Aldi has blueberry organic applesauce that is super good and great if you don't have time to make anything.
Something that I have also started doing recently is taking charcoal baths. I take them twice a day and basically it is just a bath but you put a scoop of activated charcoal in it. Activated charcoal is a detoxer, which removes toxins from your body. I also do a charcoal face paste which is the activated charcoal, the oil frankincense, and oil of your choice ( I use avocado oil). Right after the bath, I put lotion on my WHOLE body to make sure I am fully moisturized and not dry because dry eczema is super itchy.
In addition to the charcoal baths and the diet, we have added Young Livings probiotic and Copaiba oil. Copaiba is an anti-inflammitory oil which I put 4 drops under my tongue and I drink lots of water with lemon oil in it. Another good thing that I take is Smarty Pants gummies which are supplements I take every night. If you would like to try any of these products, click the links below.

The charcoal bath looks a little ‘scary’ but it’s helped so much!
